The regional fire and rescue center warned that the cyclone could damage power lines and communications, disrupt life support facilities, road and community services, housing and community services, and all types of transportation. They also warn about the probability of collapse of weakly reinforced, large-format and dilapidated structures.
“Erosion of roads, bridges, dams, flooding of low-lying areas, settlements, farmland, activation of landslide processes and landslides is also possible,” the report says.
Residents and guests of the region are asked to be careful on the roads, to refrain from traveling outside the city and from entering the coastal areas of the Sea of Okhotsk.
