“On the shore of Lake Melaren, 47-year-old Iranian Maryan Bayrami declared the need to destroy all religions and burned the Koran on the barbecue. The woman was in police custody,” the agency said.
About 30 people, mostly media workers, watched the event. According to Maryan, with her actions she wanted to show that “religion is also political.”
This is the second such action in a week. Earlier, two immigrants from Iraq, Salvan Momika and Salvan Najem, burned the Koran in front of the parliament in Stockholm.
