On December 30, Bhowmik, representative of a great artistic dynasty, turned 79 years old. The cause of death was a respiratory illness.
As reported by India Today, the artist was urgently hospitalized on Friday at a private hospital due to breathing problems, but doctors’ efforts were unsuccessful. It is noted that Bhowmik “died peacefully, surrounded by her family.” Clarified: for six months the artist has been bedridden due to the worsening of age-related illnesses.
Anjana Bhowmick was born in the then British Bengal. After school, she moved to Calcutta, where she graduated from the city’s university. She made her screen debut at the age of 20.
