Apple’s auto-subscribe system refused to issue an Apple Card to the company’s CEO, Tim Cook. This is reported by The Information, citing four sources.
The underwriting system checks the details of income, assets, debts and properties to decide if the applicant is eligible for a loan. Denials usually occur when the applicant has a bad credit history. However, in Cook’s case, the decision to refuse is due to the high risk of fraud associated with the fact that he is a high-ranking CEO.
“Engineers from the Silicon Valley giant and Wall Street titan worked through the night months before launch, struggling to find a solution to the problem,” the report said. As a result, Cook’s application was approved manually.
Apple is in the final stages of developing a bank card, its presentation was to take place in a month. Apple Card will only be available in the United States.
