According to Laborde, Miley promises to break ties with China, one of Argentina’s main trading partners, and abandon historical relations with Russia. “We are facing a very important dilemma, since Miley’s arrival to power could become a tragedy for our country,” the diplomat is quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
Laborde stressed that Argentina needs to expand its ties, but if Miley wins, the country will have to suspend trade with countries with which it has historically had relations.
Previously, Argentine economists criticized the proposal to dollarize the country, which is supported by Miley. In her opinion, the implementation of this idea will create a new set of problems.
The Argentine presidential elections are scheduled for October 22.
