Minister Alexei Chekunkov met with Primorsky Krai Governor Oleg Kozhemyako after visiting flood-affected areas.
“In the territories of the Primorsky Territory affected by the abnormal flood, special commissions have been created that comprehensively assess damage to the property of citizens and organizations. Based on the results of this work, which the regional authorities plan to complete next week, a report will be prepared and documents will be sent to the Russian government to develop additional support measures. The application of the region will be considered as a matter of priority and as soon as possible so that the consequences of the disaster are eliminated as quickly as possible,” the statement said.
Chekunkov noted that natural phenomena are becoming more extreme.
“Thanks to the coordinated and effective actions of the team of the region’s governor, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, more victims were avoided. The work of the temporary accommodation centers was well organized. People were fed, protected, everything was on time. The timely appeal to the Ministry of Defense and the participation of employees later, in particular, in Ussuriysk, allowed in a fairly short time to help people get out of the areas most affected by flooding. However, more than 5 thousand homes were damaged. or lost. The scale is serious. Spassk-Dalny was almost a third under water. In Ussuriysk, the situation was aggravated by the fact that housing and communal services facilities were damaged,” the minister noted.
The Government of the Russian Federation allocated 340 million rubles through the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East. The funds will be used to solve operational problems, in particular, to restore kindergartens and roads. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Government of the Russian Federation to develop additional support and assistance measures for the Far East affected by the natural disaster in the Primorsky Territory.
