Avgvst garage (ag) is a new address for the Avgvst jewelry brand. It’s a platform for experiments and collaborations with niche artists and brands, a sandbox for jokes, and a place of absolute freedom. All Avgvst garage collections will be limited edition.
“The most daring things happen in the garage. You can do things in the garage that you can’t do in the office. At Avgvst garage, we partner with talented designers and niche brands to experiment: what new can we create together? The project logo, ag, is both Avgvst garage and argentum (lat. silver). Each release will have a different logo. Each issue is a mini-universe of a guest character,” says Marina Kasperovich, Avgvst Design Director.
Avgvst garage’s first guest is brand Liars Collective. This Saint Petersburg association, “inspired by freedom, contradictions and graphic design”, creates clothing, accessories and interior items. At the heart of the collaboration is one of Avgvst’s first pieces of jewelry, the clip-on earring, reimagined in keeping with the New Nature manifesto.
“Made according to the rules it ceases to be unique and desirable. 2003 designer looks at computing and technology. The 2023 designer looks at nature and tries to imitate it, mimicking its laws and techniques. Nature creates imperfect, abstract, random. The object you see is the designer’s attempt to become nature,” says Anton Gorbunov, founder of Liars Collective.
