The premiere screenings of the musical drama Mayakovsky were held at the Mark Zakharov Lenkom Theater. The play, dedicated to the poet’s 130th birthday, was written by Vasily Vakulenko (Basta) and his team Gazgolder, along with playwright Nika Simonova. On the stage of “Lenkom” he was represented by the chief director of the theater Alexei Frandetti.
“Vasily, his music and poetry are absolutely in tune with the figure of Mayakovsky. This is a temporary musical bridge that he built. And if you make a musical interpretation based on, and about, Mayakovsky, then you will not find a better author than Vasily, ”Frandetti said.
The plot tells about the love triangle between Mayakovsky and Lily and Osip Brik, which leads to a tragic denouement. The creators promise to show the frenzy and tragic passion of the poet, his selfish betrayal of his beloved and the distant voices of the time.
