As reported earlier by SOYUZ, Belarusian servicemen of the air defense forces and the air force at the Ashuluk training ground in the Astrakhan region took part in joint operational-tactical exercises with live firing, carrying out launches from the S-300 and Tor-M2 air defense systems.
In addition, this month, Belarusian pilots fired short- and medium-range missiles from the Su-30SM for the first time. The head of the Belarusian defence department, Viktor Khrenin, who attended the exercises, highly praised the results.
By the way, the second stage of non-strategic nuclear force exercises took place in June, with the participation of Belarusian military personnel. Its aim was to maintain the readiness of personnel and equipment of units for the combat use of non-strategic nuclear weapons of the two countries in order to ensure the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Union State.
In early August, it became known that the first batch of units of one of the air defence units of the Republic of Belarus had left for military exercises. It was stated that operational-tactical exercises will be held in the south of the Russian Federation in August. 4,000 servicemen and 150 pieces of equipment were expected to take part in them.
