American singer Billie Eilish has revealed the release date and title of a new song that will be included on the soundtrack of Greta Gerwig’s upcoming film Barbie. Premiere of “What was I made for?” will take place on July 13, writes NME.
“We wrote this song for Barbie and it gives me absolute anxiety. This movie will change your life and I hope this song will too. Get ready to cry,” the singer commented on the upcoming release.
Billie also tagged her brother and producer Finneas in the post, meaning they worked on the song together.
The composition of the musicians who worked on the film’s soundtrack was announced in May. It included Ava Max, Dominik Fike, Haim, The Kid Laroi, and Lizzo. Tracks already released include Dua Lipa’s lead single ‘Dance the Night’, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s ‘Barbie World’, PinkPantheress ‘Angel’, Karol G’s ‘Watati’ and Charli’s most recent ‘Speed Drive’.
