The cause of the accident of a tourist bus in Türkiye was the driver’s sleep

The Turkish holiday of Russians and Belarusians ended in tragedy: the bus that was taking them from the town of Manavgat in the province of Antalya to the airport crashed into a road fence and crashed into a concrete pillar. The entire front part of the bus, as can be seen in the pictures from the scene of the incident, is boiled over. The driver died. In the cabin there were 16 tourists from Russia and 4 from Belarus. A source in the tourist sector of Antalya told KP.RU the reason for the incident.
In response to a request from a KP correspondent, the Belarusian embassy in Ankara reported that everything was fine for its citizens: “All citizens of Belarus flew home, there were no casualties among them,” said a representative of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
The Russian Consulate General in Antalya has not yet received any requests from the Russians and has sent an emergency request to the local police.
As a source in the Antalya tourism sector told KP.RU, the condition of the injured Russian tourists is satisfactory:
– All the victims were taken to a local hospital. There are no serious injuries among them; all medical procedures are carried out for preventive purposes. As far as I understood from the information I received, according to the bus passengers, the driver could have fallen asleep at the wheel; they said that the accident was such that it could only have been committed while asleep. Moreover, according to them, the main blow of the pole fell exactly on the driver’s seat.
