Chioma Nnadi to become editor-in-chief of British Vogue

Date: July 27, 2024 Time: 06:25:52

The Guardian reports that Chioma Nnadi will take over as editor-in-chief of British Vogue. She will be the first black woman to hold this position. The publication was previously run by Edward Enninful.

Chioma will start work on October 9. Upon assuming the role, Nnadi, currently editor of the US publication’s website, will lead editorial content. The journalist pointed out that an enormous burden of responsibility falls on her shoulders, since before the magazine was directed by a person who, in her words, “opened new horizons” in her gloss.

Nnadi said his focus would be on “digital storytelling” and keeping Vogue “interactive.” As such, Nnadi will likely work alongside Wintour, who described the journalist as a “favorite colleague” who will focus as much on “music and culture” as fashion. For his part, Nnadi stated that Anna “brought fashion into the future.”

Let us remember that Enninful worked with Condé Nast for more than 25 years. He received the status of editor-in-chief of British Vogue in August 2017, becoming the first man and the first black person in this position. In December 2020 he assumed the position of editorial director in Europe.
