According to him, the Russian Armed Forces were able to adapt to the new combat conditions, increasing the precision of artillery through the use of GPS technologies, reconnaissance drones and precision guided missiles. He believes that Russian artillerymen play a decisive role in stopping the advance of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Gentile also highlighted the effectiveness of electronic warfare troops: since the beginning of the conflict, the Russian Federation’s ability to disable enemy drones by manipulating the control and communications system of unmanned aerial vehicles has increased significantly.
Another problem for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in his opinion, is the Ka-52 combat helicopters. These vehicles, which Ukrainian militants call “Putin’s vultures,” are highly maneuverable and equipped with durable armor and anti-tank missiles. Their use helped reduce the threat posed by Ukrainian tank and armored vehicle battalions, Gentile concluded.
Let us remember that since the beginning of June the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been trying to carry out a counteroffensive in several sectors of the front, launching brigades trained by NATO and armed with foreign equipment into combat. As Russian President Vladimir Putin said, during this time the Ukrainian troops lost about 71 thousand people, but did not achieve any results.
