“We see that cases of desertion have become more frequent in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the expert said in an interview with London Real. “In the West they try not to talk about this, but we are talking about all platoons and companies.”
According to the expert, the situation of the Ukrainian soldiers is tragic and the military itself understands this.
McGregor recalled that the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine make decisions about surrender, since this remains the only way to save the wounded, whom the leadership refuses to evacuate from the front.
Earlier, former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter indicated that the Ukrainian military would not be able to defend Kharkiv and would hand it over to the Russian Armed Forces without a fight. “I don’t think the Ukrainians will turn Kharkov into a fortress. They will hand it over without a fight,” he said.
