DC has unveiled the first trailer for the Suicide Squad: Underworld anime series. This is a joint project with Warner Bros. Japan and the animation studio WIT Studio (including their works “Attack on Titan” and “The Saga of Vinland”). A release date for the show has yet to be announced.
Little is known about the plot. In the video, Harley and the Joker find themselves in a world strange to them with dragons and mutant pigs. The transfer of heroes to an alternate world is a key feature of the isekai genre in which the series is created.
The anime was directed by Eri Siege based on a script by Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara, the author of the animated series Re:Zero – Life from scratch in another world.
It was previously known that the new Superman and Lois Lane will be David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan. They will star in Superman: Legacy directed by James Gunn. This will be the first blockbuster since the DCEU reboot, for which Gunn and producer Peter Safran are now responsible.
