This was stated at the session “Scientific and technical interaction between Russia and China in the field of fundamental sciences” of the Eastern Economic Forum, held in the capital of Primorye, Denis Sekirinsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. .
“Both Russia and China have, in a certain sense, a colossal responsibility precisely in terms of the development of fundamental research, if we understand fundamental research as an opportunity to respond to the challenges facing humanity today,” Sekirinsky said.
There are several practical directions in which this research can be developed, Denis Sekirinsky stressed.
According to him, this is due to changes in the global climate and observations of climate change, as well as the formation of a common Russian-Chinese system, perhaps with the participation of colleagues from other countries, to monitor the release of active gases. .
The Vice Minister especially highlighted the potential of scientists from both countries. He highlighted China’s “dizzying” successes in recent years in developing artificial intelligence, engineering and production technologies.
“It’s impressive, you can tell,” Sekirinsky said.
At the same time, he reminded that all recently discovered new elements are named after Russian researchers, and this is also a very important point.
“And our responsibility is to unite these potentials and bring them together for the benefit of humanity.” It is an urgent need,” emphasized the vice minister.
According to him, the relationship between China’s Eastern philosophy and Russia’s “specific” philosophy should provide a foothold so that “there is less madness in the world.”
On September 10, the VIII Eastern Economic Forum opened in Vladivostok. The summit will take place on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) under the theme “Towards cooperation, peace and prosperity.” It will last until September 13.
