The troupe met on its stage on Sretenka: until September 10, the historic building of the Bolshaya Nikitskaya Theater will be closed for repairs. Well, on September 10, the main stage will open with the premiere performance “Love according to Márquez”, dedicated to the anniversary of the People’s Artist of Russia Igor Kostolevsky. The almost eternal and invariably spectacular Igor Matveyevich will be 75 years old.
The beginning of the season is creative plans, gifts and bouquets for the heroes of the day, with which the artistic director of Mayakovka, director Yegor Peregudov, began his meeting with the company. First of all, he gave the actors an encyclopedia dedicated to the centenary of the theater. Second, he congratulated the Mayakovists on their creative and personal anniversaries. He also presented silver badges to those who have worked in the theater for more than 40 years. And they were many. The longest – 64 years old – is People’s Artist of the RSFSR Svetlana Nemolyaeva. She is followed by actress Maya Polyanskaya. Igor Kostolevsky in Mayakovka is 51 years old. Evgenia Simonova, Nadezhda Butyrtseva, Tatyana Orlova – 47 years …
Peregudov threatens to release eight premieres in the new season. The first four will be released this fall. In September (on the small stage) – the play “Measure for Measure” directed by Alexander Zolotovitsky. October 29: premiere of “The Forest” based on Ostrovsky, staged by Yegor Peregudov. The director promises to show an unusual performance: “it will not be easy for the artists.” And Anna Ardova already felt it. After the rehearsal, she did not come to the company meeting.
The performance “Ward No. 6” based on Chekhov is directed by director Yevgeny Zakirov (premiere September 30). In December we hope to see the debut in the theater of film director Sergei Ursulyak with the play “Another Tale”, where Ursulyak brought together several authors. Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor will be released in March.
In the second half of the season, the rehearsals of the play based on the novel by Narine Abgoryan “Simon” (premiere in April) will begin on the main stage. “This is a production with a large number of female roles,” Peregudov promised the Mayakovka actresses, who, of course, cheered up. He himself will stage a musical fairy tale by David Tukhmanov and Yuri Entin “The Thief of Bagdad and Black Magic”. The premiere of the work to see with the family is expected in May. In addition, Peregudov plans to start rehearsals for a play based on Eugene Onegin. It will be out next season. Director Yuri Ioffe will stage “Uncle Vanya” on the Small Stage. Musician Pyotr Aidu will premiere the radio play “Dreams of Russian Classics”, which includes several scenes from various literary works, accompanied by live music. This is an “experimental zone”, which will not be limited to this production. There will be other creative laboratories and performances, a format that is quite difficult to understand and evaluate, but these are modern trends, they are in almost every theater.

Svetlana Nemolyaeva, as the oldest actress of Mayakovka – “One Hundred Years at Lunch”, was critically evaluated. Svetlana Vladimirovna wished the company love, success and joy in the new season. And she lit a fire, probably creative, in a symbolic lighthouse. “Mayakovka” – a lighthouse – now the theater has its own tradition.
It was especially pleasant to see Svetlana Vladimirovna in good health and in excellent shape. Last season she suffered a serious spinal injury. That’s why she rehearsed and played sitting down.
– The director staged me so that I did not have to get up and walk, – Svetlana Nemolyaeva explained to us. – In general I am very right-handed, but a year ago I fell at home and suffered a compression fracture of the vertebra. Thank God the doctors got me on my feet.
From the outside, Nemolyaeva’s words sound coquettish: Svetlana Vladimirovna always looks beautiful, cheerful and smart. She says that “the secret of her beauty” lies in the fact that she doesn’t hold a grudge against anyone and she doesn’t speak ill of anyone. All the art directors, and there were many, she calls them talented people, she gets along with everyone. It is true that in the new season she does not have any new job in her native theater. What is strange, especially with such (8!) Number of premieres that Peregudov spoke about.
A similar situation was described by another popular favorite – Tatyana Orlova. For the next releases she will have a small role of queen in “Another Tale” by Sergei Ursulyak.
– What’s next, I don’t know, there were negotiations with the director who will stage “Simon”. But these are just plans.
Not all the stars came to the company meeting. There was no Evgenia Simonova, Anna Ardova, Galina Belyaeva… Apparently, they had their own reasons for this.
