Heads of regions are elected in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Magadan and Amur regions, the Sakha Republic and the Primorsky Territory, deputies of regional parliaments in Buryatia, Transbaikalia and Yakutia, and the mayor in Khabarovsk. In addition, the district votes for deputies to the representative bodies of the municipalities.

The second day of voting in the Jewish Autonomous Region, where 25 municipal-level campaigns are taking place, brought turnout close to the 60 percent threshold. The best indicator is in the Smidovichi district: 64.52 percent of voters went to the polling stations. In the Leninsky district, 59.48 percent of those included in the voter lists made their choice, in the Oktyabrsky district – 57.77 percent. High turnout was observed in Birobidzhan and Obluchensky districts: 55.5 and 54.27 percent, respectively.

– The participation figures are pleasantly surprising, but they correspond to the situation in which the elections are taking place. In the autonomy, electoral campaigns are being carried out at the municipal level. People vote for those who will directly decide the issues of life in the municipalities. And lately there have been important positive changes in this regard. New first aid posts, children’s and sports fields, visible changes to improve road infrastructure, improvement of the material base of schools and social institutions – people vote for this program of real events aimed at improving the quality of life. These results alone can be considered a clear vote of confidence in the authorities, says Konstantin Zemlyanikin, a member of the Public Chamber of the Jewish Autonomous Region.

According to the results of the first two days of voting in the gubernatorial elections of the Primorsky Territory, the voter turnout was 32.15 percent.

In the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) the highest turnout was recorded in the Olenek Evenki national district – 72.32 percent. Others are not far behind, for example, in the Anabar national ulus 60.59 percent of voters voted, and in the Verkhnevilyuysky ulus – 60.25 percent.

In the Amur region, 152,952 residents of the region voted in two days. Participation was 25.78 percent.

“The electoral process on the second day of voting proceeded as planned, legality was ensured by the omnipresent presence of public observers and representatives of law enforcement agencies,” said the lawyer, a member of the Public Chamber of the Amur Region, representative of the Public Office. Irina Ptakhina, in charge of monitoring the election campaign and voting in the Amur region.

High rates in Chukotka. A third of the voters voted on the first day. For example, in the village of Nutepelmen in the urban district of Egvekinot, absolutely all voters came to the polling stations – 100 percent. By the way, a wedding flashmob was observed yesterday in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug: newlywed couples in the village of Egvekinot and in the village of Ust-Belaya came to the elections directly from the registry office.

– The place was transformed into a real party thanks to the arrival of the newlyweds. The newlyweds not only voted for their candidates, but also showed us all that love and unity unite us at the most crucial moment,” shared Irina Kantakay, chairwoman of the PEC in the village of Ust-Belaya.
