According to the Federal Customs Service, the car tried to pass through the Narva border checkpoint. At the wheel was a driver with dual Lithuanian and Russian citizenship.
According to the driver, upon entering, Estonian customs officials informed him that the import of this category of cars was prohibited, after which he was returned to Russian territory.
At the moment no other similar cases have been recorded, the department added. The departure of vehicles with Russian registration from Estonia is also carried out normally.
We remind you that as of 10:00 on September 13, Estonia stopped passing cars registered in Russia. However, the ban does not include buses, motorcycles or passenger car trailers.
Previously, Lithuania and Latvia stopped allowing cars with Russian license plates.
