Filming on the second season of the Apple TV+ sci-fi thriller The Shelter has been suspended indefinitely due to strikes in Hollywood. Deadline reports.
The series’ writers planned to take a break from filming in the UK. However, now, according to the publication, Apple intends to extend the pause until further notice.
The Shelter is set in a future where the world is no longer habitable for humans. The only hope for the remaining 10,000 people is a huge underground bunker. However, anyone who tries to unravel why it was built dies mysteriously. To understand what’s wrong, engineer Juliet launches an investigation.
The series stars Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Robbins, Rashida Jones, and David Oyelowo. Graham Yost served as executive producer. Deadline writes that the third season of Foundation, the adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s books, and another streaming sci-fi drama will be affected by the actors’ and writers’ strike.
Earlier, George RR Martin suspended work with HBO until the end of the writers’ and actors’ strikes. He calls the current protest the most important of his life. We talk about it in more detail here.
