Films about patriotism will be shown at the Omsk Film Festival – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Date: April 19, 2024 Time: 02:32:14

The international media project “Date with Russia” came out of the Urals for the first time. The film festival will screen new films at 25 venues, including universities, technical schools and rural recreation centers. Thanks to online streaming, viewers both in Russia and abroad will be able to get acquainted with the films.

Emphasis is placed on modern cinematographic works that have special moral and artistic value. The jury is made up of masters of the film industry. “I gladly agreed to participate in the festival,” admitted Aristarkh Livanov. “I realized a long time ago that the further away from the center, the more beautiful the people are. And everything that can be filmed outside the center is done with great pleasure. Presiding over the jury of one of the nominations is a great responsibility. Finding a masterpiece is difficult, but I will try.”

The festival includes two programs: feature films and documentaries. The poster includes the premiere of the film “Suvorovets 1944”, created by Novosibirsk filmmakers. Omsk documentary film “Anton Tarasov” – about children and adolescents of the DPR. The feature film program includes the Omsk film “A Watch for Vera” about the fate of two girls. One lives in 1941, her namesake lives in 2022. A total of 46 films will be presented during the festival.

In addition to shows, creative meetings with famous artists are planned: Larisa Luzhina, Yuri Nazarov, Donbass poetess Anna Revyakina and composer Grigory Gladkov. The festival will end on April 6. Omsk residents hope that this will become traditional.
