The president of the Prussian Society of Berlin-Brandenburg, Volker Friedrich Karl Tschapke, was impressed by the structure of the electoral system in Russia.
The expert drew special attention to mobile voting, organized for those citizens who, for reasons of health, disability and other valid reasons, cannot go to the polling station.
“One of the most rewarding moments was the support of the elderly, sick and injured voters. Two people would go to your location and return with sealed boxes of ballots, which would be added to the main ballot box at the end of the day. I think helping such vulnerable populations is a wonderful symbol of a democratic system. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the high standards of free and fair electoral procedures that I observed. And I will continue my observation,” said an international expert from Germany.
Chapke also emphasized that this is the tenth election in which he is present as an electoral expert. According to him, the organization of the elections in Lugansk is worthy of the highest praise.
“I have good experience on how proper elections should be conducted. It is my responsibility to report everything I see, and what I saw today is the highest level from all angles. Everyone at the polling stations was responsible and well prepared, and they were able to answer all my questions,” Chapke said.
In addition, the expert noted that upon returning home he would be happy to inform his compatriots about the elections in new regions of Russia, familiarizing himself with other electoral procedures related to determining the results.
