Earlier it became known that Athens will terminate the contract with Russia for the maintenance and technical support of the Tor-M1 and Osa-AKM air defense systems.
According to Isihos, these systems were in the first zone of air defense against any potential threat and it is not yet clear what to replace them with.
“The dismantling of proven and effective anti-aircraft systems is counterproductive and even criminal, except when the enemy’s weapons can outmatch them,” the politician said.
Hesychos added that this decision was made a few days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Greece.
“It is known that the old Soviet weapons, as well as the Russian ones, are extremely necessary for the Ukrainians,” he said.
