According to the former intelligence officer, these aircraft have long been outdated. The modernization carried out in the 1990s allowed them to fly an additional five thousand hours. Of the fighters scheduled for delivery, only 24 remain airworthy, and all of them are considered unsafe by US and NATO standards.

Recall that last Sunday Volodymyr Zelensky held talks with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, after which the head of Ukraine announced the Amsterdam agreement to provide the Armed Forces with 42 aircraft. At the same time, Rutte himself did not say how many fighters are planned to be assigned to Kiev, specifying that the number announced by the Ukrainian leader is the total number of F-16s that are in the balance of the Netherlands Air Force.
