In total, more than 100 yachts participated in the regatta. They are accompanied by the frigates “Nadezhda” and “Pallada”, which do not take part in the regatta, but simply sail and greet the participants with their horns.
Tomorrow another spectacular event will take place within the framework of the EEF. At 19:00 local time a hydroflight show will begin in the waters of the Zolotoy Rog Bay in front of the Tsarevich embankment. Extreme athletes will show acrobatic tricks, rising to the height of a seven-story building by pulling jets of water. Of the six athletes, four are Russian champions. Their performance will be accompanied by a musical, lighting and pyrotechnic show.
On September 12, the international wrestling tournament will be held for the fifth time in the pavilion of the Republic of Yakutia. 24 athletes from 19 countries will participate in the competition: Russia, Angola, Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Hungary, Egypt, India, China, Colombia, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Serbia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Togo and Uruguay. All athletes will be divided into eight teams, the names of which will be chosen from representatives of the fauna of the Far East.
Let us remember that wrestling is the national sport of Yakutia, which had its origin in the traditional game of tug-of-war.
On September 13, the full Yakutian “Pacific Rim” tournament will be held. Participants will test themselves in national sports such as the turgen tarbakhtar or “Yakut rope”, the tutum-ergiir or “Yakut spinner”, the Yakut jump, the oybon or “ice hole trough” and the jogging with a bag weighing 100 kilograms.
