For about a month, Marat has been working as an electrician in the transportation branch of the company. The guy’s dream of a prestigious job came true. And the social program “Futuro Together – Starting the Profession” helped him in this: curators from among the young specialists of the company, together with psychologists, helped him navigate the specialties and overcome all obstacles on the way to the goal.
Marat’s childhood was not cloudless: at the age of five he lost his parents. His aunt became his guardian, and when the boy grew up, he was invited to participate in the program. He became friends with his curator Dmitry, regularly attended all professional orientation events and trainings organized within the framework of the project. This helped the young man to make an adult decision – to get a specialty as an electrician at the Novy Urengoy technical school.
After graduating from an educational institution, Marat managed only a couple of months to work at the company, and then went to serve in the army. When he returned home, in the personnel department of the company he was quickly given a reference for employment and the guy joined the team of transport workers, electricians are also needed there. An experienced mentor helps to fully participate in the work process.
– I like my profession. I already understood that people really need it. At one time, the curators of the “Future Together” program helped make a decision. It’s great that there are no problems with employment. In the future, I plan to get a higher education and become the best electrician at Gazprom dobycha Urengoy, win the professional skills competition. I think this is quite real,-Marat shares his plans.
The social project has been implemented by the company together with the Novy Urengoy administration for nine years. This is a real help for teenagers left without parents. The program includes assistance in career guidance, education and subsequent employment. Over the years, 103 people participated, 36 guys became part of the friendly team of the gas-producing company. Today, under the supervision of 24 company curators, 40 teenagers. If in the end they have a sure answer to the question about their future profession, it means that conversations and searches, actions and trainings, excursions to production facilities were organized for the guys for a good reason.
– The “Future Together – Starting a Profession” program helps orphans and children left without parental care to adapt to the world around them, learn to communicate, make the right career choice, and also provides children a real opportunity to find employment in a company in demanded job professions: instrument locksmiths, electricians, oil and gas production operators. Boys and girls with a difficult fate come to the project, and each with their own character. Therefore, it is important for us, mentors, to create a friendly and comfortable atmosphere, to show that we are assistants and main comrades, – says Yulia Kulishova, a psychologist from the personnel evaluation department of the Department of Human Resources and Social Development.
