“GES-2” announced the film program “Metamorphosis”. All the films of the summer cycle come together under the banner of change. The curators made a selection of paintings about individual, social and cultural transformations. The main themes of the selected films are mentioned in the title of the program – “Metamorphosis: Transformations, Resurrections and Magical Cinema”.
The eight sessions will take place in a specially designated area in the Casa de la Cultura. Foreign films will be shown in their original language and will be accompanied by Russian subtitles. The project starts on July 7. Ingmar Bergman’s drama “Face” was chosen as the opening film. The story is set in the 1840s and follows an extravagant group of traveling illusionists.
In addition, GES-2 will show the Italian parable “Happy Lazarus” about the miraculous journey of an innocent youth, the Soviet satirical comedy “Apples of Paradise” about the friendship of the ancient philosopher Socrates and an ordinary soldier, the “Miracle” about the crisis of faith and the apocalypse. The show will continue with the Hong Kong fantasy “Heroic Trio” about kung fu, demons and female superheroes who look nothing like the girls in American blockbusters. The story will then be screened Chinese love story “The Secret of the Suzhou River” and the Brazilian film “Earth Age”.
The cycle ends on July 30. On this day, the guests of the art space are invited to see the “Face of the Medusa” by the Argentine director Melisa Liebental. The main character of the surreal tragicomedy is a girl who one day wakes up with the appearance of another person.
