Barbie director Greta Gerwig decided not to use graphics to show Margot Robbie’s actual feet in the frame. The director spoke about this on the air of the Australian TV channel.
Real Barbie dolls have permanently curved feet to allow them to wear heeled shoes. As shown in the movie, you can see it at the beginning of the main Barbie trailer. The heroine Robbie takes off her shoes, but her feet hold their shape at the toe. According to Gerwig, the topic of feet has been discussed for a long time.
“Everyone said if we were to go CGI all the legs. And I thought, no way, this is terrible, a nightmare. Also, Margo has the most beautiful legs, she has beautiful ballerina feet. She should only trust something, ”said the director. In fact, the actress was offscreen holding on to the crossbar for balance.
“It took eight takes to film. Margot Robbie had to hold on to the bar to keep from bending her legs. And yes, those are her legs,” Gerwig confirmed.
Earlier, the production designer of the movie “Barbie” Sarah Greenwood said that while creating the scenery for the picture, she found a shortage of pink paint, which she herself caused. She couldn’t find the right color in several countries. We talk about it in more detail here.
