The regions should not stand aside, says Vladimir Mazur:
– The focus is on the agricultural sector, science, higher education. We discussed the possibility of exchanging youth science representatives, building joint efforts in this area and getting results. This is especially important now, as we are turning a new page in the history of the State of the Union.
Our association is fully consistent with the spirit of the State of the Union.
Grodno Regional Executive Committee Chairman Vladimir Karanik emphasized that the new stage of cooperation should not be limited to commercial interest, but focused on the importance of joint efforts to develop applied science:
– We have similar approaches to this issue, but there are differences. If we have an innovative free economic zone, then in Tomsk it is a research zone. And this is a wonderful opportunity to combine potentials. So, small-scale production will be carried out perfectly in Tomsk, after which production will be organized here. Cooperation between educational institutions is foreseen. This is not our first meeting. We see that they give impetus to real cooperation. Thanks to the agreements reached previously, our universities and the real sector of the economy find points in common. This is a harmonious partnership that fully corresponds to the spirit of the Union State.
According to Vladimir Karanik, the implementation of a promising project in ophthalmology is planned: there is already an agreement that the meetings will be held in Grodno on the basis of a university clinic.
In the regional center, the guests visited the companies “Spetsavtokhozyaystvo” and “Grodnovodokanal”. They were interested in the characteristics of the operation of municipal equipment, experience in water treatment and waste treatment.
By the way
During the visit, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus Andrei Khudyk, as chairman of the working group on cooperation with the Tomsk region, highlighted the dynamic development of relations between Belarus and the Russian region: last year, the growth rate of trade was 160 percent, this year, about 150.
