According to the United States National Hurricane Center, the center of the tropical cyclone was approximately 215 kilometers west of Halifax (the capital of Nova Scotia). The wind speed reached 30 meters per second. But the storm began to lose strength as it moved north toward New Brunswick and the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Lee flooded roads in Nova Scotia, Canada. The ferries stopped running. But not long ago forest fires broke out in the region. Floods also occurred in summer.

The province’s largest airport, Halifax, canceled all flights. The storm was so strong that the wind knocked down power lines, leaving several tens of thousands of people without power.

According to the latest data, 11 percent of Maine customers were without power, Nova Scotia 27 percent, New Brunswick 8 percent and Prince Edward Island three percent.
