People’s Artist Irina Miroshnichenko died in the intensive care unit of the Moscow Hospital for Infectious Diseases No. 1 10 days after her 81st birthday. On July 24, Irina Petrovna celebrated her birthday at her house, then she felt bad, but she attributed it to a cold. They treated me for almost a week at home, alone. But the temperature did not decrease, but only increased, it became bad; therefore, on July 30, Miroshnichenko called an ambulance. The actress was hospitalized with a preliminary diagnosis: at first she was a severe form of flu. But to make a diagnosis, it was necessary to conduct an examination.
We communicated with Irina Petrovna immediately after she was hospitalized; then the diagnosis was not yet known. But Miroshnichenko never complained about her health and was in no rush to report her diagnoses. Even when the actress was in intensive care with covid pneumonia 2 years ago, she did not tell her colleagues and friends, but she only told them when she recovered. On July 30, Miroshnichenko did not immediately pick up the phone, she answered her quietly, but cheerfully.
– Irina Petrovna, we found out that you are in the hospital. In which department? How do you feel?
– Good! Everything is fine with me.
Shortly after that, Irina Petrovna ended up in intensive care … The preliminary cause of death of People’s Artist Miroshnichenko is reported to be multiple organ failure due to septic shock. Complications developed due to the infection: Miroshnichenko was hospitalized with a severe form of flu, then he was diagnosed with infective endocarditis (damage to the heart valves). The actress’s heart could not take it and she stopped on August 3 at 11:35. The preliminary date of farewell (Moscow Art Theater named after Chekhov) and funeral (Troekurovskoye cemetery) is August 7.

Every meeting with this person is joy and happiness! Irina Petrovna loved life, she loved people, she could not imagine life without the theater, she was the successor of the traditions of the great actors of the Moscow Art Theater. Charming, radiant with kindness and cordiality, Irina Petrovna never complained about anything. To the question: “Irochka, how are you?” she-she would invariably answer: “The best!” And she smiled that radiant, unforgettable smile of hers. I am very sorry, because one after the other, individuals who created themselves, who made millions of people happy with their work, with their talent, are leaving. Just think about it: millions.
