According to RIA Novosti, the dowry of 50 thousand rubles, as well as tea, sugar and sheep, remain unchanged. The bride’s dress must meet the requirements of Islam and Chechen adats.
The amount of the bride price is fixed at will “according to generally accepted Chechen adats.” At the same time, expensive gifts to the groom, father-in-law, mother-in-law and others are prohibited. The number of suitcases for the bride remains unlimited, “but without frills.”
Gifts from the father-in-law and mother-in-law to relatives of the bride should also not be expensive: “only what has long been accepted in Chechen society.”
The muftiaco of the republic points out that gifts such as diamond rings, fur coats, household appliances, apartments and cars are strictly prohibited.
Recall that earlier the head of the Chechen Republic, Kadyrov, strongly criticized wedding innovations. According to him, they are fundamentally contrary to religion and national customs and cause a significant increase in costs. He also instructed the clergy to develop a series of measures to help resolve this problem.
