According to journalists, the migrants were not allowed to cross the English Channel into the UK and they decided that the hunters were to blame, allegedly warning border guards.
Armed with rebar and a machete, the attackers, a total of about 60 people, attacked the hunters who had taken refuge in the hut. They remained under siege until the following morning, when the gendarmerie came to the rescue.
The immigrants did not harm the hunters, but they damaged their car and stole their personal belongings.
“Solutions to stem migration flows are urgently needed before a tragedy happens to hunters or other people,” said Willy Schraen, head of the National Federation of Hunters.
