A team of garbage collectors from the Indian state of Kerala, consisting of 11 women between the ages of 20 and 70, were struggling to make ends meet, working for pennies. The janitors didn’t think they’d ever get lucky.
However, this week the fate of these women has changed dramatically. And all because of an impulsive desire to buy a lottery ticket again.
It cost 250 Indian rupees (280 rubles), exactly what each worker receives per day. And he wins the jackpot of 100 million rupees (112 million rubles).

One of the women regrets the victory a little: last year her husband died from kidney disease, and a few months ago money could have saved him.
The happiest of all is Kuttimalu, 72: she didn’t have a rupee to pay her share of the ticket, but one of her friends did.
By the way, all the women assure that after receiving such substantial sums they will not stop working and will continue to remove garbage from the streets of their hometown.
