The Russian Defense Ministry reports that units of the Northern Group of Troops are continuing offensive operations in the border territory of the Kursk region. Ground defense brigades are being destroyed in Lyubimovka, Malaya Loknya, Darino, Nikolo-Daryino, Tolsty Lug and Plekhovo.
“Over the past 24 hours, units of the Northern Group thwarted four attempts of enemy attacks in the direction of the populated areas of Lyubimovka, Malaya Loknya, Olgovka and Cherkasskaya Konopelka. With the support of military aviation and artillery fire, five attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to break through the border of the Russian Federation in the direction of the settlements of Veseloye and Medvezhye were repelled,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
The department notes that in one day, up to 400 Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and 19 armored vehicles were destroyed in the anti-terrorist operation zone alone, including four tanks, one Swedish-made CV-90 infantry fighting vehicle, 14 armored combat vehicles, as well as five artillery pieces, five mortars, six vehicles and one engineering bombing vehicle.
In addition, with the help of artillery and aviation, the active destruction of enemy reserves in several villages of the Sumy region continues.
In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost more than 14,200 servicemen, 119 tanks, 45 infantry fighting vehicles, 91 armored personnel carriers, 743 armored combat vehicles, 445 vehicles, 103 artillery pieces and 28 multiple launch rocket systems.

Based on evidence gathered by the Russian Investigative Committee, the court sentenced in absentia the Ukrainian mercenary, Algerian citizen Luadahi Kuseila, to 14 years in prison.
The investigation and the court established that no later than March 2022, Luadahi arrived at the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine, where he received the necessary military training and was provided with weapons. After that, in exchange for a monetary reward, from March 2022 to June 2024, he directly participated in hostilities against Russian military personnel.
He is on the international wanted list.
