The National Park “Land of the Leopard”, where mainly rare cats live, and the Ussuriysky Reserve share the Trans-Siberian. Therefore, the animals do not enter the reserve on their own, their habitat in the past. In this regard, specialists have developed a reintroduction program under the scientific guidance of employees of the Institute of Ecology and Evolution named after AN RAS de Severtsov. The project also involves FGBU “Land of the Leopard” and ANO “Leopards of the Far East”.
Leo 270M is one of a trio of rare animals relocated to the Ussuri Nature Reserve in late May as part of a program to return wild animals to places where they have disappeared in the past. Previously, a male Leo 260M and a female Leo 284F, later named Narva, were relocated to the reserve.
