Experts attribute the increase in the number of patients to the increased volume of medical examinations.
“The increase in disease detection is natural against the background of increasing coverage of dispensaries and medical examinations,” says Dmitry Kuznetsov, vice-president of the All-Russian Union of Insurers. According to him, at the end of last year the number of insured citizens individually informed by insurers about the possibilities of a medical examination within the framework of compulsory health insurance approached 80 million people. This year it is expected to reach approximately the same numbers.
The VSS noted that examinations carried out within the framework of medical examinations help prevent the development of diseases, since many of them are curable at an early stage. At the same time, at the initial stage of development of pathology, nothing may bother the patient. “Mass medical examinations are a global and very correct goal, the goal of which is the state-declared increase in the average life expectancy in our country to 78 years by 2030, reducing disability and strengthening the public health of the Russian population” , say the insurers. note.
The most frequently detected types of oncology during clinical examination are cancer of the breast, skin, endometrium of the uterus, malignant tumors of the prostate, colon, lymphoid and hematopoietic tissues. Among cardiovascular diseases, the most common are hypertension with heart damage, heart failure, primary hypertension, and cerebral vascular lesions.
The VSS recalled that all citizens under 40 years of age must undergo a medical examination once every three years and annually from the age of 40. At the first stage, the patient will be offered to undergo a general practitioner, an endocrinologist, a gynecologist, a urologist, as well as a basic set of examinations, including a general blood test, glucose and cholesterol tests, calculation of the index body mass, ECG, fluorography, X-ray, mammography. The second stage is carried out when signs of any disease are identified and may include additional appointments with specialized doctors in accordance with the group of the disease, as well as instrumental examinations: computed tomography of the lungs, spirometry, ultrasound, echocardiography, examinations of screening to monitor cardiac indicators (the list can be expanded depending on the specific characteristics of the disease and the identified risks).
