Today, only 36% of Russians accept a “gray” salary. Such a low level of support for “grey” schemes has not been recorded since April 2021. Four months ago, the number of Russians willing to work in the illegal sector was 40%.
43% are categorically against “gray” schemes. In the last 14 years, there has been a remarkable legalization of the labor market. In 2009, 60% of the population was willing to receive a “grey” salary, and only one in five – 21% of employees – was categorically against it.
Among those who accept a “grey” salary, there are more men, 43%, among women, 27%. This is largely due to the large amount of payments women receive based on official salaries. Older people are more likely to accept a salary “in an envelope”: 39%, but employees under 34 years of age support this format of employment much less frequently: 34%.
People who earn up to 50 thousand rubles a month are ready to work “in the shadows.” Among them there is 41%.
