– We have a systematic approach to solving the difficult task of modernizing the public transport park, – stressed the governor of the Altai Territory. – This is a complex and costly process, which is why we actively use various federal support instruments. In the last two years, thanks to this support, 193 buses for municipalities, ten trams for Barnaul and seven trolleybuses for Rubtsovsk have been purchased. This year we were also able to obtain a special loan from the Treasury in the amount of 800 million rubles to buy another 65 buses for urban routes. We plan to further increase the pace of modernization of public transport.

These unprecedented investments, which for the first time in many years are aimed at the development of public transport in the Altai Territory, have made it possible to equip 55 districts and cities of the region with new buses and to resume transport on 65 municipal routes, mainly in areas rural. As the Ministry of Transport of the Altai Territory notes, trolleybuses purchased last year for Rubtsovsk are already operating on the line. Delivery of ten modern low-floor trams from Belarus to Barnaul is expected in the near future. And 65 new buses, the purchase of which is planned for this year, should arrive in Barnaul, Kamen-on-Obi, Aleysk, Slavgorod, Gornyak, Zarinsk and Zmeinogorsk in early 2024.

Meanwhile

In addition to upgrading the vehicle fleet to improve road safety, the Altai Territory is implementing a project to create intelligent transport systems. Automating the management of the public transport system will help increase road capacity, reduce the number of accidents, reduce travel delays and reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
