According to the Telegram channel of the regional prosecutor’s office, the Chita district prosecutors are conducting an investigation into this fact. The representatives of the control body will evaluate the actions of the authorized bodies to prevent an emergency and eliminate its consequences. In addition, a temporary reception office for the public prosecutor has been set up in the temporary accommodation centers for citizens. Their task is to exclude violations in the organization of assistance to victims.
Transbaikalia has been drowning since July 4. According to the Trans-Baikal UGMS, up to 60 percent of the monthly precipitation fell in the region in two days. The small rivers in the region reacted to this, their level rose sharply. In the first days of the riotous elements, 65 family plots and 23 residential buildings were flooded in four settlements: Kurunzulai, Ulety, Urulga and Aleksandrovsky Zavod. Four sections of roads of regional importance were washed away.
A high alert regime has been declared in the region due to heavy rains and the threat of flooding. The corresponding resolution was signed by the head of the region Alexander Osipov.
As reported at the headquarters, now in Transbaikalia there is already a weakening of the cyclone and a slight decrease in the water level.
