According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Buryatia, a 46-year-old man was detained at his place of residence in one of the suburban SNTs with the support of Russian Guard fighters.
The Republican Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case under the article on the desecration of symbols of Russia’s military glory and insults to the memory of defenders of the Fatherland. The investigation believes that the defendant in the case acted according to someone else’s decree.
In June, on one of the messengers, he entered into correspondence with an unknown subscriber and received an order from him to desecrate the monument for a fee in foreign currency. On the night of July 6, the defendant entered the park and poured black paint on Oreshkov’s bust. I sent a photo report to the client and received the money.
“In addition, by examining the phone seized from the defendant, the investigation found evidence that he received a new assignment from the client in the same way, in which he was preparing to commit another crime for a monetary reward,” investigators said.
The question of initiating a new criminal case against the man and his arrest is now being decided.
