The Multinational Textile Indig Closed Its First Half of the Year 2023 With A New Record of Sales Valued at 16,851 Million EUROS, 13.5% More Than the Same Period Last Year, Due to the Good Reception of Its Spring and Summer Collections and the expansion of its different fashion brands to 20 new markets. The company increased its net profit by 40% to 2,531 million euros and improved its gross margin by 14.1%, up to 9,801 million, reaching 58.2% of its sales after improving by 27 basis points.

The firm chaired by Marta Ortega continues unstoppable, supported by the important weight of the Zara brand, which once again shows unparalleled performance in the market after registering 12,362 million euros in net sales, 13.1% more than in the first half of 2022, when it had a turnover of 10,927 million.

The rest of the stores registered double-digit growth and above average inflation, highlighting the push of Oysho, which sold 18.3% more to 346 million; Stradivarius, with 17.7% more and exceeding the billion range with 1,075; and Massimo Dutti, who had a turnover of 842 million, 16.8% more.

By geography, sales in Spain grew two tenths to account for 14.4% of the group’s total worldwide. Where they increase substantially is in the rest of Europe, which improves by one and a half points to 47.8%. In America they fell seven tenths to 19.4%, while in Asia and the rest of the world they fell one point and account for the remaining 18.4%.

Inditex assures that it will continue to develop its global sales platform and highlights the “very satisfactory evolution” of sales both in physical stores and online, where they have also grown, although without giving distribution data. The textile group founded by Amancio Ortega seems to maintain similar figures during the third quarter: between August 1 and September 11 it reports a year-on-year increase in sales of 14%.
