Today, 34 Russian and foreign companies reside in the SEZ, 13 of which are already in operation.
One of the facilities under construction is a NOVATEK plant for the production of liquefied natural gas. It is important to note that 85% of this company’s equipment is Russian-made; The companies Samara and Togliatti participate in the construction of the plant. The launch of the company is scheduled for the end of the year. This will make it possible to open a network of safe and cheap gas stations in the region, including on the route leading to the bridge across the Volga under construction as part of the Europe-Western China transport corridor.
“The project is very interesting and high-tech, with a total investment of 3 billion rubles. The agreement for the creation of such a company was signed on the sidelines of SPIEF 2022, and today we are already talking about the imminent start-up of the plant.”, emphasized Dmitri Bogdanov.
The Transportation of the Future plant for the production of unmanned aerial systems is also being actively built at the construction site. Production is also scheduled to begin before the end of this year. This will give the region more than 300 new jobs.
“It is planned to create drone research and production centers on the territory of our country, and the Samara region is among the three regions where they will be created in the first place. We hope that such a center will work next year. It will be located in the EEZ and in the “Zhigulevskaya Dolina” technology park, as well as the plant of the “Transport of the Future” company, Dmitry Bogdanov shared about his plans.
Food production is also in the active construction phase in the EEZ. In particular, the inauguration of the Togliatti food processing plant is being prepared. It will be a plant for the production of vegetable oil, and in the future more complex products based on the processing of agricultural products. Another project in the field of “food”, the production of sports nutrition, has also entered the active implementation phase.
“The SEZ has a wide range of production facilities: five pharmaceutical companies, food companies, car component companies, which today have acquired special relevance due to the tasks of maximizing the localization of Russian components, and now all these will be used plants, not only for AvtoVAZ, but also for automakers of the whole country,” explained the head of the Ministry of regional Economic Development.
In the two existing stages, practically no vacant land remains. Due to the great demand of the investment site, the construction of the third stage of the ZEE with all the necessary engineering infrastructure is underway. In addition, investors here receive tax benefits, a customs free zone regime, as well as a special administrative regime.
“Together with the federal government, we will work to attract federal funds to create the infrastructure of the third stage of the special economic zone. Of course, with financing from the regional budget. In recent years, the region has invested 4 billion rubles for “Develop infrastructure, build buildings. Today, the special economic zone is completely self-sufficient as a management company. A joint-stock company is profitable and does not require additional investments for its operational activities,” stressed Dmitri Bogdanov.
Today, the Togliatti Special Economic Zone is one of the best in the country in terms of the number of new jobs created, investment growth and residents. In addition, there is an active recruitment process. More than 140 vacancies have been collected on the SEZ website alone. A special organization created by the regional government interacts with companies in the “one-stop shop” mode in the Samara region. The Investment Promotion Agency accompanies all projects from the idea phase to assistance after the start of production.
