Alla Pugacheva, after the start of the SVO, followed by her husband Maxim Galkin (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia), left her homeland and went to Israel. And recently, the singer performed in Jurmala at the Laima Vaikule festival, part of the proceeds went to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This act finally divided Pugacheva’s supporters and opponents. Some call to deprive her of awards and state titles, others are sure that Pugacheva remains the number one star.
Producer Iosif Prigogine also spoke about Pugacheva’s place in the history of Russian music. He stated quite harshly that his train was gone and that an artist could only be interesting in a modern context.
“What is ‘number one’? ‘Number one’ may be in the graveyard. In my understanding, ‘number one’ is about the relevance of this time. But who is ‘number two’ then? What kind of numbering do we have? What is popularity? This is a demand in a certain period. Here Michael Jackson left such a mark that he still feels as if he were alive,” the producer believes.
Despite the departure and betrayal, many show business colleagues still have good feelings for Pugacheva. The creator of “Tender May” Andrey Razin compares her with Claudia Shulzhenko. Prigogine categorically disagrees with this assessment. He believes that Pugacheva and Shulzhenko are artists of different generations and it is simply wrong to compare them.
“Could you compare the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty? How can they compare? This is an idiotic trend. We have strange people. They are always looking for comparisons: the first is Alla Pugacheva, the second – the thirty-first … It cannot be either Claudia Shulzhenko, or Joseph Kobzon, or Frank Sinatra, or Valeria. She has her own creative side to her. The repertoire is completely different. It is far from the songs of Claudia Shulzhenko,” Prigogine said in an interview with the Paragraph portal.
The producer does not hide the fact that he has long-standing claims against Pugacheva. Earlier he admitted that the artist gave the General Director of Channel One an ultimatum so that his wife Valeria would not go on the air.
Earlier, Maxim Galkin said that he did not plan to move from Russia abroad in advance. He was in London for work, and once in the UK he decided not to return to Russia. Later, Alla Pugacheva moved to him with the children.
Many believe that the singer continued to talk about her husband. With her decision, Galkin literally confronted her with a fact, and Alla Borisovna was forced to obey and go abroad.
