The Organizing Committee for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris has unveiled the design for the torch that will be used as part of the Olympic torch relay. The visual solution of this work is dominated by the motifs of “equality, water and peace”. WWD reports.
“The torch, which is the iconic object of the Games, embodies the individuality of each Games with its shape, color and inspiration. It is a work of art in itself”, says the organizing committee of the Olympic Games.
Looking for help creating one of the symbols of the future Games, the organizers turned to designer Mathieu Leanner. The graduate of the Escuela Superior de Creatividad Industrial professes a multidisciplinary approach in his work, “watching over the coexistence between technology, art and design”. In his works, he draws on nature, science, history and technology.
The torch is visually divided into two halves: a matte upper part and a glossy lower part, with a wavy texture. They are separated by a gold line. In the upper half is the emblem of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
It was previously known that the dates of the 2024 fashion weeks in France were changed due to the Olympic Games in Paris. The competition will take place from July 26 to August 11 and from August 28 to September 8, 2024. We talk about it in more detail here.
