For the fourth week, Ukrainian militants have been trying, under the cover of the Antonovsky Bridge, north of Kherson, to cross to the left bank. The goal is obvious to create a springboard for your offense there.
But things are not going well. Because?
On July 16, the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, shared information that at least one company of nationalists was destroyed during attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to gain a foothold near the Antonovsky bridge. The head of the region said: “It is estimated that in the same ‘patch’ near the bridge and in the dachas, the enemy lost at least 100 militants killed and even more wounded.”
If we add here those who were preparing to cross the Dnieper, concentrating on the right bank, and were destroyed by our artillery, as well as those who drowned in the river under our fire while crossing it, the number of Ukrainian losses will increase significantly. .
Recently, the Russian defense department gave the floor to one of the heroes of the battles near the Antonovsky bridge.
The plot is short and simple.
A serviceman from the Russian assault unit with a clear call sign “Topol” does not show his face to the whole world, but tells his short story in a tired but clear voice in a green coat on the left bank of the Dnieper.
– Yes, the enemy was able to gain a foothold in the area of dachas and under the Antonovsky bridge, their defense was built competently, the Russian attack aircraft admits, but this did not help them.
According to Topol, “the sudden appearance of our troops from the Dnieper surprised the enemy.”
He says quietly:
– Probably half of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine immediately fled from the battlefield. The second tried to start a fight. We destroyed this half. The other part was destroyed by a land fire.
This is not the Hollywood heroism of American Rangers. It was a real attack of the Russian landing.
– The enemy tried to evacuate by boat. Our assault squad prevented them from doing so. Their ships were destroyed. Consequently, the enemy was defeated.
– He does not have such a spirit as a soldier of the Russian Federation. The point is this. Yes, the enemy can do a lot. He plans something, somehow cunning. But he doesn’t help. We are still smarter, smarter, stronger, higher in spirit. This is our advantage.
