To understand the purpose of what is happening, the protection of the components of the new C-DM hybrid transmission was evaluated: this version of the T2 will debut next week at the Beijing Motor Show.
After the collision with the first barrier, the front part of the crossover was deformed: the grille fell back, the hood bent, the optics and the front bumper fell off, the windshield was strewn with bricks and was clearly not intact. An inspection was carried out: the traction battery housing of the C-DM system, widely used by Chery in its cars and models of its subsidiary brands, did not present any defects and was not deformed.
Apparently, for this reason they decided to send the Jetour Traveler against the second brick wall, but this time the car accelerated to 60 km/h and reinforced the barrier. Unfortunately, the video is not yet publicly available and it is not entirely clear how the “crash test” was carried out. It can be assumed that the T2 went through two walls in one go, but in this case, how was the crossover able to accelerate to 60 km/h after hitting the first wall, which is located a very short distance from the second barrier?

Be that as it may, the merit of the originality of the Jetour Traveler test is clear. In the comments, some users indicate that the walls had no safety margin for the simple reason that the mortar on which the bricks were placed did not dry. Of course, doubts may also arise about the quality of Chinese bricks…
In Russia, Jetour T2 costs from 3,759,000 rubles for the basic version of the Voyage and 3,999,000 rubles are asked for the Expedition version. The car is equipped with a 2.0-liter 245-horsepower engine, a 7-speed DCT robot and an all-wheel drive system.
