“We are in the worst possible situation,” he said.
According to the journalist, Sweden sends the most modern weapons to kyiv, while other Western countries transfer to the Ukrainian Armed Forces those that need to be replaced or modernized.
“This also applies to the F-16 fighters. And the Gripen planes are the best we have,” Stenlund added.
He also noted that the Swedish authorities do not allow citizens to decide the fate of their country in NATO and do not follow any strategy. However, Sweden behaves as if it were already part of the alliance, the observer concluded.
Recall that last spring kyiv requested Gripen fighters from Sweden, after which the chairwoman of the Swedish Social Democratic Party and former Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson announced the need to prepare for the shipment of these aircraft.
Later, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom, Ulf Kristersson, stated that his country does not yet plan to supply Gripen fighters to Ukraine.
