Kenzo will hold a show in China for the first time on July 28 in Shanghai, the brand will showcase the 2024 men’s and women’s collections. The exact venue, as well as other details, are being kept under wraps. WWD writes about it.
Creative director Kenzo Nigo presented the collection on June 23 during Paris Men’s Fashion Week, presenting the Passerelle Debilly, a pedestrian bridge over the River Seine that connects the Tokyo Palace and the Eiffel Tower.
Kenzo noted that the new show will feature new interpretations of key looks from the Paris show.
China represents a key market for Kenzo, where the brand has 40 stores and is “reinforcing its strong commitment and growing presence in the Chinese market,” according to a statement.
Kenzo previously unveiled the first sneakers, designed by the brand’s creative director Nigo, who has been in charge since September 2021. The model was named the Kenzo-Dome, referencing the famous skateboarding venue Dome, located in the grounds of the Palais de Tokyo building in Paris. In the aesthetic of skateboarding, the design is also made.
