Rock band The Killers may temporarily withdraw from stadium concerts, despite the ongoing tour. The musicians also want to stop working on the new album, which is almost finished. Brandon Flowers, vocalist, keyboardist and author of most of the band’s lyrics, said so in an interview with The Sunday Times.
According to Flowers, it is now in the worst crisis in 20 years. The musician was very upset by the reaction of the public at a concert in Batumi to the invitation to the stage of a drummer from Russia.
“We want our concerts to take place in an atmosphere of unity. We are saddened that this has happened,” the band leader said.
He added that he did not expect fans to perceive his phrase in this way: “All people are brothers.” The Batumi concert in question took place on August 15. Brandon Flowers invited a drummer from Russia to the stage. The group has been inviting the public to the stage at their concerts for many years. The audience booed The Killers, made obscene gestures at the musicians and chanted anti-Russian slogans.
